Jane Evans completed her PhD at University College London in 2007, following degrees in social policy and politics.

Since then I have gained in-depth research experience, both academic and applied, with special emphasis on policy research in the third sector.

I have particular skills in working with children and young people, both individually and in groups.

I specialise in qualitative research that gets to the heart of personal experiences without intrusion. Voice and participation are central to my working practices.

Extensive work with children from vulnerable backgrounds, combined with a long term, senior position on a research ethics committee means that the work I conduct is thoroughly sensitive to ethical protocols. I have an enhanced DBS check.

To ensure that my research draws on the latest academic studies and the widest range of other literature I have borrowing rights at all the 18 prestigious member libraries of University College London and find the Newsam Library of the Institute of Education especially relevant.

To keep up to date and gain from contact with other social researchers I am a member of The Social Research Association
